A business contacts list for sales teams

A contact list alone does not bring customers. Results come from three things together: the right segment, the right message and consistent follow-up.
This guide is a practical workflow from building the list to the first replies.
1. Narrow the segment
Pick one sector, one size band and one region. A target group of 300–800 companies is ideal — large enough for statistics, small enough for a concrete offer.
2. Write to the segment, not to everyone
An email that opens with a problem specific to the sector gets a multiple of the reply rate of a generic introduction. Use the company name and industry in the first sentence.
3. Measure and repeat
Track these four numbers and change one variable at a time.
- Deliverability
- Open rate
- Reply rate
- Meetings booked
