Company List in Excel or CSV

A good company list isn't the longest list. It's a list where every row is a potential customer and every column helps you decide what to say to them.
Let's look at how to build a list, what it absolutely needs, and how to avoid the most common mistake — too broad a target audience.
Columns a list can't work without
- Company name and registry code — the basis for updates and avoiding duplicates
- EMTAK activity description
- Legal form
- County and address
- Email and phone
- Employee count and revenue range, if available
How long should a list be
For a first campaign, 300–1,000 rows is usually enough. That gives you enough responses to gauge whether your message and audience fit, without burning through the entire market.
If the response rate is good, expand with the same filter to a larger volume. If not, change the audience or the message before scaling up.
Importing a list into your CRM
Always import by registry code, not by name — names change, registry codes don't. This lets you update the list later without creating duplicates.
Kontabase files come in both Excel and CSV, with consistent column headers that make mapping in your CRM fast.
